At Clarkson University, sportsmanship begins just steps away from campus.
We’re located in the North Country at the foothills of the Adirondacks, an internationally renowned biosphere region and the largest publicly protected area in the continental United States. We’re also situated on the Raquette River. Then there’s our proximity to the St. Lawrence River — just 30 miles from campus —giving us ample opportunities to hunt and fish the lands and waterways of St. Lawrence County.
So, where do you start? Whether you’re a casual fisher, a hunter, a target shooter, an archer, a trapper, or just an avid outdoorsman, the Clarkson University Rod & Gun Club welcomes you and serves as your introduction to our region’s hunting and fishing activities. Our club goal is to promote sportsmanship and conservation with integrity and honor.
Why Join the CRAG Club?
Clarkson’s spirit of competition is not just for the athletic fields. Join to learn and develop leadership and Outdoorsman Ability in the sport of fishing and dually of hunting, and also any other legitimate and ethical way to take game: i.e. Archery, Spear-fishing, trapping, etc., and or the practice and processes involved thereof, such as: target shooting & casting. This club will Practice and Endorse the four fundamental safety rules of shooting.
Hunting & Shooting
We focus on three main aspects, hunting, fishing, and shooting. Hunting consists of mainly duck, goose, turkey, and deer. Our shooting is an events team for target & cast shooting. We host a Fall annual Trap Shoot event.
Fishing
We know everyone has a preference on where and what they like to fish so we do a variety. We host a Charity Ice Fishing Derby in the Spring semester.
